Poison in Moderation is Still Poison

It is frustrating to me when people say “anything in moderation”. We would never tell an alcoholic to just drink one drink. We wouldn’t tell a drug addict to have just a little bit. I don’t believe I’m alone when I say I am a sugar addict. If I eat one cookie- I eat all the cookies. I haven’t had any sugar in years and I finally feel that I have control but I know- one bite could change my progress. It’s a slippery slope and moderation does not work for me. Once I was able to view my issues as addiction, I was able to deal with it. Once I accepted it was all or nothing, I was able to conquer my addiction. I am proud to say that it has been years since I've indulged and I have not had any cravings.
