Collagen Broth- Slow Cooker or Pressure Cooker

INGREDIENTS

3-4 pounds bones (chicken, turkey, beef)

Optional- necks and/or chicken paws (these add extra collagen)

2 carrots, chopped

2 stalks celery, chopped

1 onion, chopped

1-2 cloves garlic

4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons whole allspice

2 tablespoons whole peppercorns

Water

DIRECTIONS

Place all ingredients in slow cooker or pressure cooker and cover with water.

Cook on low in slow cooker for 24-72 hours or if using pressure cooker- pressure cook high pressure for 2 hours (120 minutes). I prefer using a pressure cooker- I get thick gelatinous broth every time and it saves time.

Strain through cheese cloth or metal strainer and place in jars. Add salt, onion powder, garlic powder to taste.  Cover and keepin refrigerator.  Use for cooking or drinking plain. I love collagen lattes, broth blended with coconut cream.

Feel free to experiment with flavors. I love adding fresh ginger and a cinnamon stick to my broth. Enjoy this wonderful broth and the amazing benefits to your hair, skin, nails, joints and gut!!
